Learning to Fly!!

Having some fun today practicing Bakasana, Crow Pose. And yes, the end should read "Namaste." I lost my "e" somewhere in the editing. :) Oops!!

This used to be another one of my nemesis poses. The thought of attempting to balance myself on my arms left me with such fear - "My arms are going to buckle out from under me," "I'm going to crash my head into the floor and break my neck," "I'm scared to try," etc., etc., etc. Once I began to understand the subtle movements of my body (and gained some much needed arm strength!) and as I, now, continue to release the tension within and fully open my heart to grace... I, little by little, am finding that I can come into Bakasana without planting my face to the floor (a pillow helps to cushion the blow... trust me on this one)! A wonderful feeling of success! :) There is an amazing burst of joy that is felt within when you realize, "Oh my gosh! I'm holding myself up and I'm flying!!" Well, sort of, anyway...

I try to practice this pose every day... hoping one day to find myself fully flying with ease and grace!!! (That was one of the best pieces of advice I received from a fellow yoga student during my training - "Pick a pose you hate and practice it every day... then see, feel & observe the changes that come from within.")
